Konami getting back into the Guitar Market

Years after Guitar Freaks that first introduce the world to Guitar action in a video game, Konami is back with a revenge this time around with “Rock Revolution” and is scheduled for DS, Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3. Now the PS3 version along with the Xbox 360 version will sound like a Rock Band bundle with a Guitar and realistic drum set actually created by musicians for the most realistic feel, along with that there will be 40 songs ready to go with more coming via the PSN and XBL. Rock Revolution will allow users the more realistic feeling of being a musician by allowing you to create songs with up to 8 tracks and has a “Jam Mode’ along with Online and offline Versus Modes and Battle Band Mode too. “Jam Mode” will allow users to create on the fly performances and record them too, on the Wii instead of having a Guitar or drum set you will use the Wii remote to do basically Air Guitar / Air Drum with the motions mimicking a real guitar or drums. Looks like fun can’t wait for it to arrive.

Guitar Hero IV to have song writing

Staying with the music theme the new Game Informer I got spills the beans on the new stuff for GH: IV. First is the inclusion of drums now to the game along with Vocals too, the drums will be pressure sensitive and can tell if you are rocking out or just tapping away. Along with that was news of the new song writing feature you will have and the ability to upload your masterpiece for others to rock out too, there is a limit of 5 uploads per user for now. The game will have a studio mode which is how you will be able to create your songs, look for the ability to create a rocker too. Basically more Guitar Hero style with Drums, song writing, and more detailed song charts and breakdowns will be something to see about the Drums.

What the Hell does Firmware 2.35 do??

Well it’s a YouTube integrator for the PS3 that is right, in Firmware 2.35 you will be allowed to record and then upload your videos to YouTube. The new Firmware will allow users to basically record in-game footage to your HDD of your gaming awesomeness and then upload it to YouTube for the world to see and mock you for it. So far this is an option for developers to integrate into their games for gamers to do not a standard, the stats for this recording option are in 320x240 in MPEG-4 video format with 30 frames per second and allow for up to ten minutes of recording at a time, after you do record your actions you are given a option to either upload them to YouTube to store them on your HDD. Along with that news came news about the 2.40 firmware set for a June release which will unveil some kind of Trophy system. From what I gather on the subject you will be able to earn trophies that are 2D not 3D and accessible via the XMB on your PS3, unlike the points system Xbox have this will be little icons to show you have done something cool in the game.

Hookers, Xboxes and all on Dad's Credit Card
By: JamesL007 - Posted On: 5/15/2008 1:01:04 PM
Straight from News.com/au comes this story that is beyond belief just read it.

Ralph Hardy confessed to ordering an extra credit card from his dad's existing credit card company and taking his pals on a US$30,000 spending spree after which they ended up playing Halo on an Xbox with the hookers in a Texas motel.

The $1000-a-night prostitutes were released without charge but Ralph was given a three year community order upon his conviction on May 9, money.co.uk reported.

The prostitutes told police they grew suspicious when the kids said they'd rather play Xbox than play with them.

Authorities were alerted to the motel by a delivery clerk who, after delivering supplies of Dr Pepper, Oreos and Fritos, was asked by the kids where they could hire some escorts.

They young lotharios explained they'd just won big at a World of Warcraft tournament and wanted to relax.

Back in 2006, a small Texas-based company, Anascape, filed a lawsuit against Nintendo for patent infringement. Anyone remember this? Turns out, a federal jury found in favor of Anascape and is ordering Nintendo to pay $21 million. All for the Wii classic controller, Gamecube controllers, and the Wavebird controller. Really, controllers? At least it wasn't for the technology used in the Wii remote and nunchucks.

Nintendo wasn't the only one either. Microsoft was accused also, but they settled before Nintendo went to trial. Nintendo is appealing and "expects the court to reduce the award "significantly.""
Let just hope this "new feature" is not lost in translation

Ths UK blog TheSixthAxis is reporting that a secret ability of last nights 2.35 firmware update is up the awesome alley.

If the translation is correct this would mean that ALL PS3 games potentially have the ability to upload in-game movies to YouTube. Now this can mean from the PS Eye, recorded in-game footage and other things.

Since the source of the news is a japanese site lets hold our excitement until there is a better source. The game in question was also the first to do PS3 to PSP gameplay so it seems to be a testing ground for PS3 awesomeness.
Game of the year candidate is a welcome addition to the PS3 library
By: SectionZ - Posted On: 5/15/2008 6:34:14 AM
If Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine is right (1up.com), the comparison videos will flow in September 2008.

Now I know there was a rumor last month about this but this source is pretty reputable and probably has the best track record in the industry.

Regardless for those of you with an XBOX 360 let your PS3 brethren know just how bad ass this game really is on every level. Its one of those games that is used constantly in the video games vs art discussion and the industry is the better for it. It is also one of those timeless titles that will probably have a good reception on the PS3 regardless of the obvious big games coming out that month (RFOM:2).

Don't even think about brushing this game off because it was an XBOX exclusive, or call it late. Rapture is a work of art that deserves you put down your pitchforks and dive right in. On second thought .. take your pitchfork.

Small hack leads to really shitty day
By: SectionZ - Posted On: 5/14/2008 12:37:22 PM
So we got haX0red last night .. really simple hack that took out the posts and comments mostly.

But then I stepped in to complete the work of this would be hacker and took out a couple weeks worth of data.

I can blame it on sleep, I can blame it on Jeff Garlin, but at the end of the day I still have to apologize to the accounts that got deleted.

Things to keep in mind. This will NOT affect tags you have already made even if your account no longer works. In other words if your PlayStation Forums account has a TripleTag in it ... it will be fine.

Again super sorry about this, holes have been patched, authorities informed, posts and skins should make their way back up throughout the day.
First SIX out yesterday
By: mystragis - Posted On: 5/13/2008 3:04:16 PM

They came out yesterday and I'm addicted to Defend Your Castle.  I saw people play the flash game online and never thought anything of it.  Now I know why.  Its simple but so much fun.  One game I'm definitely looking forward to is Bubbles.  I know, I know, but I think it'll be like Rub-a-Dub from PSN, and I really enjoy that game.

There are a couple of ways you could download WiiWare games.  One, you can go to the Wii shop channel (boooring).  Two, you can go through the Nintendo Channel.  At least this way you can also check out the video of the game before you download it.

A little side note about the Nintendo Channel.  I think its a nifty addition, but it would be nice when I'm watching a DS video, there should be an option to download the demo there as well, instead of having to go back out to the main menu and then ...
And after a day like today its good to know people want to actually talk to me

Jeff Garlin is evil. I met him today in a Q & A session at my school (Flashpoint Academy in Chicago). When I asked him the question, "What do you value more in someone your working with, Knowledge or Passion?", he answered with, "Your overthinking my man." At first it stung to be at the center of such a harsh answer but then he gave some really great insight in regards to my question. Needless to say, my ego took a hit.

Thank god for the guys at Aeropause.com who let me in on their very candid [ READ FULL POST ] - COMMENTS ( 0 ) | ARCHIVE
